We noticed that many illnesses require the constant use and carrying of heavy medical devices such as oxygen tanks and fluid bags. Getting around independently with the heavy equipment isn’t easy, even more so given the patients’ health conditions; this forces them to stay in bed for long periods, leading to further deterioration of mental and physical conditions.
For these reasons, we have decided to develop the Follow-Me project. The project is currently under development and includes a compact robot that can carry heavy medical equipment while following its’ user.
Using image processing and motion control, we are able to achieve our goal and allow the user full and hands-free mobility.
